James S. Shute, age 62, of Iron River, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Essentia Health, in Duluth, MN. He was born February, 1, 1950, in Chicago, IL, the son of James and Marion (Tutland) Shute.
He graduated from Hinsdale South High School, in Clarendon Hills, IL and then attended school to become an electrician. For over 30 years, he worked for Commonwealth Edison. On April 10, 2006, he married Gail Shirley in Ashland. James was a member of the Trails North ATV Club, in Iron River. He enjoyed ATV riding, hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Shute, Iron River, WI; two sons, Thomas J. Shute, Melrose Park, IL and Ryan P. Shute, Iron River, WI; grandchildren, Hailey Shute, Audrie Shute, Taylor Beske and Kyle Beske; two sisters, Lynda (Michael) Brunner, Watertown, WI and Lenore (John) Kwaitkowski, Downers Grove, IL; Mark Beske, a young man who James was guardian over; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, in Iron River, with Deacon John Grek officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, on Wednesday, at the church.
